If you’re looking to buy a new garage door, you’ll be aware there are a lot of options to choose from – including sectional garage doors. Keep reading to find out why you should be considering them for your garage.

1) They stop leaves and wind getting in

How often do you have to get rid of leaves and bits of debris that have been swept into your garage? Even if it’s just once a month during winter, it becomes quite frustrating.

Perhaps you don’t necessarily use your garage to store a car – many people use it as a home gym or office… if that’s the case, you’ll be more aware of how much wind some garage doors let in.

The solution to both of these things is a floor seal – something the sectional doors have already.

2) They’re great for small driveways

If you’ve got a small driveway, it can make getting your car into the garage a bit tricky. You have to leave enough space for your garage door to open without hitting your car, which isn’t always easy.

With a sectional garage door, you can drive right up to it because it opens and rises vertically – so you’ll never have to worry about the car getting hit again.

It’s also a great choice if you have a big car, as it allows you to make the most of the space inside your garage and you won’t have to worry about drive through width again.

3) They work on all shaped openings

Does your garage have a slightly less than conventional opening? Then you’ll know finding a garage door that fits used to be difficult – but not anymore…

Sectional garage doors can work with a wide range of entrances, including the ones shown below:

4) They can be manual or electric garage doors

Not everybody likes electric garage doors. Similarly, not everybody likes manual doors. It’s all about personal preference – but one thing you can be sure of is whichever one you prefer, there’s a sectional garage door out there for you.

Manufacturers such as Hormann offer both options so it’s worth taking a look and seeing which one you prefer. And if you’d like to try any of them out in-person before buying, remember; you can always come and visit our showroom in Guildford.

5) They offer fantastic security

It’s the least you’d expect from a garage door, we know – but sectional garage doors have very minimal pivot points. It sounds kind of technical but all it really means is it’s incredibly hard for someone to break into.

Because of this, you’ll find that it puts most burglars off even trying. So if you want to make sure have an incredibly secure garage door (and, let’s face it, who wouldn’t?) you should definitely consider sectional garage doors.

So there you have it – 5 reasons you should consider sectional garage doors. They’re incredibly versatile, they work for all kinds of shapes, and they’re a great investment.
